Frequent Flyer Miles with the Vet

About a week and a half after adopting him, we found a large blob of blood in Sammy's stool. I of course being the paranoid pet mama that I am just about had a panic attack and made Tair call the vet. Fortunately they told us that, since he had no other symptoms, it wasn't an emergency and should it happen again we would need to bring him in. All was looking good until about a week later when we found another runny red doodie outside the litter box (!); this time, having better control of myself, I called the vet and they told us to bring him in.

Now I need to say for any new Olim looking to adopt a pet, Let the Animals Live, the organization we adopted both our cats from, is phenomenal. Even after the two week grace period they took Sammy without any cost and have been very nice and always reassuring. The only downside is that the clinic is in Ramat Gan, we live about 40 long minutes away and Sammy cries loudly for every one of them.

Anyway they put Sammy on an antibiotic and a probiotic, which although not exactly a treat to administer, seems to be working.

Bottom line, if you see blood in your kitty's stool, call your vet but don't have a full blown panic attack right away ;)

Also- if anybody has tips on how to keep your cat calm in the car, feel free to share!

Finally calmed down a bitSleeping off a very long day
